Guizhou CNGR Platinum Metal Material Technology Co.,Ltd.,a subsidiary of CNGR PGM Materials under CNGR Group,has recently obtained a Hazardous Waste Operation Permit.This key approval means that the Tongren Recycling Plant now meets the regulatory requirements for large-scale recovery and recycling of spent catalysts and other secondary resources.It fills an important gap in CNGR PGM Materials'recycling operations and strengthens its integrated industrial system spanning resource development,intelligent manufacturing of materials and global recycling.

　　Located in Dalong Economic Development Zone,the Tongren Recycling Plant is designed to process 5,000 tonnes of hematite and 3,000 tonnes of spent catalysts annually,with an annual output of 10 tonnes of platinum-group metals(PGMs).The plant is capable of refining eight precious metals:palladium,platinum,rhodium,iridium,ruthenium,osmium,gold and silver.Construction of the production lines is largely complete,with commissioning and trial production progressing in stages.With the permit secured,the plant will be able to turn spent catalysts and other secondary resources into PGM feedstocks for direct supply to downstream customers,strengthening the connection between recycling and materials manufacturing.

　　Strengthening Supply Security Through Smelting and Recycling

　　High-end catalysts are in strong demand and have high technical barriers to entry.They are essential materials for the petrochemical,new energy and environmental protection industries.As international precious metal prices become more volatile,securing stable raw material supplies and controlling costs have become major challenges for catalyst materials producers.Recycling secondary resources helps reduce the impact of price fluctuations and improve supply security.According to the China National Resources Recycling Association(CRRA),recycled PGMs accounted for approximately 22%of China's domestic supply in 2024.

　　The Tongren Recycling Plant combines pyrometallurgical concentration and hydrometallurgical recovery,enabling it to process both primary mineral resources and secondary recycled materials.The process allows rare and precious metals from spent catalysts to be concentrated,refined and recovered for reuse,supporting the efficient recycling of strategic metals such as platinum,palladium and rhodium.This capability also supports CNGR PGM Materials'urban mining raw material supply system,helping secure a more stable,cost-efficient and sustainable supply of feedstocks.By strengthening raw material security and cost control,the plant is expected to enhance the company's competitiveness,profitability and resilience to risk,providing a solid foundation for CNGR's long-term development.

　　CNGR PGM Materials is developing an integrated“Ningxiang Manufacturing+Tongren Recycling”model covering the full lifecycle of catalyst materials,from the recovery of rare and precious metals to the delivery of high-value catalysts.

　　The CNGR Platinum-Group Metals Functional Materials Industrial Park,located in Ningxiang Economic and Technological Development Zone,has five flexible production lines covering inorganic compounds,organic compounds,platinum-based catalysts,palladium-based catalysts and copper-based catalysts.The park has an annual production capacity of 600 tonnes of platinum-group metal chemicals and 4,500 tonnes of industrial supported catalysts,placing it among the industry's leading facilities in terms of production scale.Of particular importance,the production lines feature modular designs that allow rapid adaptation to different production processes.With high levels of automation and strong product consistency,they can provide customers with large volumes of high-performance,high-quality customised products.Once the Tongren Recycling Plant begins operations,CNGR PGM Materials will further strengthen its core competitive advantages in raw material costs,supply stability and product consistency.
